Ten years ago . . . .

1. I was working at Liberty Mutual managing workers' compensation claims
2. A close friend of ours, our stake president's wife, was being treated for breast cancer
3. We bought our first IBM type computer. We previously were an Apple family
4. Rachel returned from her semester at BYU and spent a week with us. Becci, slept by her every night. She would make a bed on the floor so she could sleep by Rachel.
5. Jenny was on a mission in Argentina
6. Becci also had chicken pox
7. Melissa went to prom with a boy she met the year before at EFY in Provo. He came to Phoenix from Corona, California.

Five things on my to do list . . . .

1. Complete paperwork (benefits, taxes, etc) for my new job
2. Release a returning full time sister missionary. My stake president is out of town so I am filling in for him.
3. Read "The Holy Secret" by James Ferrell
4. Watch my granddaughter Sophia's hair grow (she is still kinda bald but improving)
5. Buy a new home after selling my current home

Five snacks I enjoy . . . .

1. Popcorn
2. Oranges
3. Hard, crispy pears
4. Chips
5. Beef Jerky

Five foods I love . . . .

1. Trout (Rainbow, Cutthroat, German Brown, etc)
2. Steak (prefer New York Strip, Ribeye or T-Bone)
3. Fried Chicken (haven't had this one for years. It is always barbecue, oven roasted or microwaved)
4. Swiss Chard
5. Pot Roast with Potatoes and Carrots

What I would do if I became a Billionaire . . . .

• Buy a summer/vacation home in Midway, Utah
• Go on a cruise every few years
• Return to Brazil for vacations
• Visit all the church historical sites in the Midwest, Eastern United States
• Give a bunch of it to Fast Offerings and Humanitarian Aid
• Invest it
• Keep on working

Favorite family recipe . . . .

This is hard as LaRee is hiding my favorite cupcake recipe for some reason. But, here is another one.

Cake Mix Cookies

Need a box cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup veg. oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients and mix well until the batter shows no lumps. Drop by teaspoonful about 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet a few minutes before removing. Can also add raisins (just for Melissa), nuts or chocolate chips or coconut. Makes 36 cookies.

This is a scripture quoted in the Peacegiver, a book by James Ferrell. Since reading this scripture, it has become a good source of comfort and guidance.

"And after their temptations, and much tribulation, behold, I, the Lord, will feel after them, and if they harden not their hearts, and stiffen not their necks against me, they shall be converted, and I will heal them." Doctrine & Covenants 102:13. I have added the boldness to pass along what I think is the message of that scripture.
