Quilts

Well, I thought I would show everyone what I have been up to lately. My mom and sister have gotten me interested in quilting. The first quilt I did last year, was for Eli, when he went into his big boy bed. It coordinated with the decor Melissa and Matt did for his room. I quilted it on my mom's long arm quilter with a loop/leaf design.

Then this last year I have been putting together 2 quilts. Then this summer while Becci was at EFY I spent time at my moms doing among other things quilting. This one is Dallin's (he will be going into his big boy bed soon). It coordinates with his room also. It is a square in a square design and I stitched it with an all over loop design.

The second one is Becci's. It is her quilt for college. I always make a quilt for my girls to put on their bed when they go to college. Theirs were simple tied quilts. I have a new interest and hopefully skill (and time!) now. I am ahead of schedule with hers. She will graduate next year, but I needed time to get the binding, etc. done. Her quilt is a sampler quilt that I got started in Enrichment. Since each block is different I decided to quilt each block in a different design with a leaf/flower design in the sash and a loopy heart in the border. Becci picked the colors. I think it turned out really well. The back is the pink/brown print.

So that is what I have been doing. I think I will make them pillow cases to match the quilts. I found a neat method online from the Utah State Extension Service. Then I should finish my Strolling the Block quilt that I started 3 or 4 years ago.

I'm glad you started quilting... you are good at it. The quilts look great! I can't wait for Dallin to get his. :)
