Enduring to the End

This entry is not what you think it is. You are expecting a spiritual post. Not this time.

Let me ask a question. Perhaps it is rhetorical. Hopefully, you will understand.

What is worse? Buying a set of eyeglasses or buying a car?

Yesterday, my wife and I bought new glasses. As I sat there listening to the sales pitch - buy this, protect this, do this, sign here, give me your credit card, etc -- I wondered why buying glasses had to take so long (hours) and why buying cars had to take so long (hours)? When we left, we felt penniless, worn out and kind of blue.

In two weeks though, we will be sporting the best glasses known to mankind with lightweight frames, anti-glare coating and insurance to protect them in case a grandchild reaches up and breaks them.

Make sure you tell us how good we look when you see us. It will make us feel better and know we purchased the right pair. And yes, we did endure to the end.

Wow! car buying is one of my least favorite things. I think I'll have to add eye glass shopping to the list, if i ever buy a pair.

So where is the picture taken. Back east somewhere? Maine, Ohio?
