Well I finally got back from Utah and I must say it was a blast! EFY was amazing, as always, and I loved getting a look at the BYU campus. It was beautiful and I loved all of the green grass! However, the dorms were another thing all together. Wow were those beds uncomfortable! I absolutely loved everything else though, and the trip just fueled my already flaming desire to go there for college. My counselors at EFY were crazy! I had so much fun hanging out with them. Our only guy counselor, Myles, was the best. His summer job prior to EFY was playing Prince Eric at Disneyland! Can you believe that?! I can't think of a cooler job than pretending to be a prince all day! Well anyway, the teachers were pretty good this year, although my favorite is still the cartoonist guy from last year. The best teachers were Bro. Kurby and Sis. Barbara Jones. Our session director, Bro. Horton, had by far the best lessons. You could be laughing your head off one second and the next, be choking back tears. Well actually that was only once. Mostly you just laughed till it hurt. I made a close friend while there also. Her name is Michelle and she is really randomly funny. She and I just so of clicked. It was just like me and Hope last year. She has this really unique sense of style that I totally loved. It was just random pieces of clothing that she put together yet they all seemed to match and look good on her. I have a picture somewhere but I'm too lazy to put it up right now. Well on to my COW (Crush of the Week for all you who are unfamiliar with it). Unfortunately there weren't many guys with potential in my group that were my type and as all of you know, I'm not the boy crazy type. However, when I'm at EFY something changes. It was the last day of EFY and me and Lara (my lifelong friend who came with me) were getting ready for the day when suddenly we hear some guys yelling outside our window. We look, of course, and there are about ten guys playing basketball with a football. (Apparently, Utah is short on basketballs.) Our eyes were immediately drawn to one person. He was tall with blonde curly hair but not too curly like an afro but more like Eli's. He wore a teal shirt with white jeans and some amazing red shoes. He had a strong jaw line and I don't know about the rest of you but when guys have really distinct jaw, I just fall head over heels. Lara and I just swooned like crazy. He was so amazingly HOT!!! Just then he made this amazing shot with the "basketball" and he did that thing guys do when they want to show off to the girls (some were below us cheering and whistling). He lifted up his shirt and gave us a great view of his rock hard, eight pack abs. All I can say is W-O-W. From there on in, Lara and I dubbed him Hot-Teal-Guy. (Because he wore teal, duh!!) All day we were on the look out for him, hunting him down. I'm sure we sounded and looked like idiots but it was fun and it was EFY. What else are you supposed to do there but guy watch? (And get on a spiritual high of course but at the time we were more interested in the first.) We later found out that he has a twin brother (not identical) that was equally as hot and that they were from Australia! They even had an accent! Lara got close enough to hear it but I wasn't around at the time. : ( Anyway this guy kept on getting better and better throughout the day. But we never could bring ourselves to talk to him or even find out his name. The high point of my day came though at the dance. I was dancing around and letting loose as much as I could in the small cramped area (we had about 1500 people crammed into the Ballroom. Not fun, let me tell you.). When all of a sudden I felt two hands on my shoulders and I hear and "Excuse me" from behind. Now just to clear things up a bit before there is any confusion, this was not an "Excuse me-I-want-to-talk-to-you." It was more of an "Excuse me-its-really-crowded-and-I-can't-get-by-without-touching-you-
P.S. Do you like my countdown clock till Breaking Dawn comes out? I figured out how to put it on all by my self! I can't wait till August 2nd! It's going to be a great day, that's for sure!
unless-you-step-to-the-side" type of thing. Anyway, I turn and there he is! I stopped cold. I stared at him with a dumbfounded look and mumbled a few words that I think were "It's okay" or something similar and then he walked off. I stood there for a while. My mind still catching up to what just happened. All I could think was, "Oh my goodness! He just touched me! HE JUST TOUCHED ME!!!!! I am never washing this shirt again!" Then I ran to Lara and gushed about what happened. I know I probably sound like some idiotic boy crazed teenager, but I swear it was only because I was at EFY! I promise I am back to normal! I swear it!
I'll just sum it up and say that it was an amazing week at EFY and one I will not easily forget. : )
