As members of the church, we are expected to serve. Well, for the first time in our married lives, LaRee and I are serving in callings that seem compatible. She is the Relief Society President and I am the High Priest Group leader. I have a few months on her. Since August 2009, our group leadership has been visiting weekly in members homes. This is so fun and yet so challenging. We try to leave words of encouragement and invite ward members to participate in church activities. She was called about two weeks ago and sustained on 3/21/10. I am sure that LaRee and her counselors will do the same types of visits.
She and I now have the opportunity to attend ward leadership meetings together.
I look forward to the day when the Bishop says, "Bro. Walsh, please stop holding your wife's hand and concentrate on the topic we are discussing." "But Bishop Andersen, she is so beautiful it is hard to think about anything else. And besides, her hand is so soft and caring."
We have, in just two short weeks since her call, had the opportunity to go together to visit members of the ward. One visit for the High Priests, one visit for the Relief Society and one visit for both the RS and HP. What a great experience! We sit side by side ministering to the needs of the family. LaRee is so tender and caring. I try to teach doctrine and make promises. I look forward to our future visits together.
We are, in my humble opinion, the dynamic duo.

Dad you are too funny!! That made me laugh out loud about the holding her hand thing. But it was also very sweet. I'm glad you have so much love for my mom!
Good luck with your callings. Thanks for being such great examples.
The picture is located in nature with a beautiful lake. :)
How about somewhere Uncle Reed lived?
Ahhhhh, you guys are so cute! :)
Um...Alaska?
LOL Dad, you are so cute. And yes, you two will do very well in your callings together.
I want to say the picture is Crater Lake, but I don't know if you've been there. So...either Canada or Alaska--from your cruise.
Oh ya, I forgot about Alaska and the cruise. That's my vote too!!
The place is in Yukon, Canada. It was simply gorgeous.
