I read the Church News from August 5, 2012 discussing the 90th birthday of Elder L. Tom Perry. Hard to believe he is 90. He doesn't look 90. I remember listening to him at a Sunday Fireside at BYU in 1974. He gave a great message. I recorded it on an 8 track tape. I don't think I have the tape nor do I have a machine to play it.
I love one of his quotes. It is important since I just turned 60.
"When my dad turned 60 I was convinced he was ready for the grave; that was old. But when I turned 60, I felt like a kid of 18. When I turned 70, I felt like of kid of 20. When I turned 80, I felt like a kid of 30. Now that I'm 90, I feel like a kid of 40."
Well, I don't quite feel like a kid of 18 but I sure don't think I am really old or ready for the grave. I want to still do a lot more. Notice how he calls 30 and 40 year old's kids. I bet some of you in that age range think you are more savvy than a kid. Maybe not.
